The Wolves won their first three games by 25, 22 and 23 points, then lost in overtime at Cleveland on Monday despite 47 points from Anthony Edwards. On Tuesday night came the news that Edwards will have an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee on Thursday and miss up to two months, ESPN's Shams Charania reported. Minnesota is 3-1, sixth in the Western Conference, and starts life without him tonight against Golden State. Here is the first week, game by game, from ESPN's box scores, and the five games ahead.

Last week

Wolves 131, Heat 106 · Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Miami

Edwards opened the season with 45 points on 16-of-29 shooting, nine of 17 from 3-point range, and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. That made him the third player in NBA history with at least 40 points in more than one season opener, after Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan, ESPN noted. LaMelo Ball scored 21 in his Minnesota debut, Jaden McDaniels had 17 on 8-of-11 shooting, Ayo Dosunmu added 16 off the bench and Rudy Gobert grabbed 15 rebounds. The Wolves made 21 threes to Miami's eight and outrebounded the Heat 52-34. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 in his first game for Miami before fouling out.

Wolves 115, Magic 93 · Friday, Oct. 23, at Orlando

Edwards went 5 of 23 and the Wolves won by 22 anyway, on the glass. Minnesota outrebounded Orlando 60-43, 21-8 on the offensive end, and never trailed. McDaniels and Edwards each scored 15, Gobert had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Dosunmu put up 14 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds off the bench. Terrence Shannon Jr. added 13 on 4-of-6 shooting. Wendell Carter Jr. led the Magic with 20 points and nine rebounds.

Wolves 117, Raptors 94 · Sunday, Oct. 25, at Target Center

The home opener was over early. Edwards scored 26 in 28 minutes, Shannon had 15 on 5-of-6 shooting, Ball hit four of five threes for 15 points in 17 foul-limited minutes, and McDaniels added 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Gobert had 13 rebounds. Toronto played without Kawhi Leonard, who was ruled out an hour before tip-off with swelling in his left knee; Ja'Kobe Walter led the Raptors with 22, and Scottie Barnes went 0 for 12. Edwards began grabbing at his right knee during this game, ESPN later reported.

Cavaliers 127, Wolves 125 (OT) · Monday, Oct. 26, at Cleveland

Listed as questionable on the second night of a back-to-back, Edwards played 41 minutes and scored 47 on 19-of-34 shooting. James Harden tied the game at 113 with a floater with 10.4 seconds left in regulation, and Peyton Watson blocked Edwards' drive on the Wolves' last real chance to win it. In overtime Edwards hit a 3 to tie it at 121 before Donovan Mitchell's fadeaway with 48 seconds left put Cleveland ahead for good. Down 125-122, Ball missed two free throws with 9.2 seconds left; Kuminga got the rebound, Edwards missed a 3, and Watson made two free throws. Edwards' 28-footer at the buzzer only set the final margin.

Mitchell finished with 26, Harden 19 and Evan Mobley 18, and rookie Meleek Thomas scored 16 in his NBA debut. For Minnesota, McDaniels scored 14 before fouling out, Shannon had 14, Joan Beringer went 6 for 6 for 12 points, Jonathan Kuminga had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Gobert pulled down 20 rebounds, eight of them offensive, while missing all nine of his shots. Ball had 11 points, six assists and seven turnovers.

Against the DraftKings lines ESPN lists for each game, the Wolves covered all four, including Monday as 3.5-point underdogs. Three of the four went under the total; the overtime game in Cleveland went over. Each final's recap and closing line sits on its game page: Miami, Orlando, Toronto, Cleveland.
